January, First Week "Okay, you two. We're going to try something."Bianca had managed to find a nice little spot by the shore where they, hopefully, would not be interrupted. It was a bit away from the Legend Portal, though it was a difficult thing to miss, even in the distance. She'd always found the portal beautiful, and was known to sit in the general area quite often during her downtime. It was only the chance that someone still on the other side could potentially step through and end up tripping over her that had kept her from taking a nap near it all these years. Even then, she'd always been tempted. There was something calming about it, to her. The Solrock and Lunatone around here seemed to share the sentiment, since she saw them around it more often that not. She faintly entertained the idea of hanging around there to see if she could catch one, but discarded it, at least for today. They were a little bit creepy. Not threatening, not really, but definitely a little bit creepy. Instead, they were in a currently-private little fishing spot by the shore, and she was smiling at her two pokemon. Rosa fluttered over a nearby stone to perch on it, and Bela climbed up to sit her not long after, as Bianca got ready to explain her plan. "There's a lot more to training than straight-up battle experience, though that's definitely important. You can't just throw yourself into fight after fight. You've got to work on keeping yourself in top form outside of it, too."Bela perked up at that and slid off the stone. She promptly made a flexing motion and grinned as if to say 'that's not a problem, check this out.' Rosa seemed to roll her eyes a bit and Bianca couldn't help a faint giggle. "Oh, not saying you haven't, mi gatita. Just saying we've got to keep up on it."Bianca let her shoulder bag hit the ground and put the hand not holding her fishing pole on one hip. "So, while I see if I can't fish up either something for us to fight or something for us to eat--" Not that those are mutually exclusive. "--You are both going to work on something important." She gestured at Rosa with her pole. "I want you to fly around, work on your aerial agility a little. No set pattern. In fact, be as erratic as possible. Act like you're trying to keep from getting hit by a land-bound opponent." She gestured at Bela next. "And you, don't take your eyes off her. Track every move, see if you can pick up on her tells and predict where she's gonna go."Both pokemon looked at each other, processing the orders, then nodded in understanding. Bianca nodded back and smiled. "Just don't start pitching attacks at each other. Save that for the fish. You can spar properly next time." They nodded again, and then Rosa took to the air, flapping her tiny wings as hard as she could as she tried to dart around in the air. Too bad spritzee were some of the least speedy and agile bird pokemon ever. Not being a flying type was probably part of that. The result of her command was a bit like watching like what she imagined it would look like if someone shot a pink, feathered pioup from a slingshot and then it tried to change direction mid-air. Repeatedly. In rapid succession. Not exactly a master of the sky, here. That was the point, however. Rosa would never be a talonflame or swellow, but she could still improve, and shaving even a fraction of a second off of her flight speed or reaction time was could save her life someday. Pushing that somewhat depressing thought aside, Bianca looked at Bela next. Given Rosa's lack of speed, she didn't seem to be having too much trouble, but the movements were indeed erratic and she seemed to be dutifully trying her best to follow and predict them. Bianca knew that some sneasel had a natural talent for accuracy, even under less-than-ideal conditions, and she hoped it was a skill Bela could develop. Chances were it'd take a while, though. Patience was no stranger to someone who'd fished for a living, however. Speaking of which, Bianca decided to stop watching and get to her own task for the day. She didn't sit down--if she did, she knew she'd be more more likely to drift off, and that would make it all the easier for her the end up yanked into the water by something on the other end of the fishing line yes that had happened to her before--and instead spaced out her feet in a strong, balanced stance before she made her cast. Her hook went flying over the water and then landed, prompting a proud smile. Perfect. Now, she just needed to wait until something caught itself on the hook. Her pokemon, meanwhile, took advantage of that wonderful language barrier to comment on their current training regimen. As Rosa made a valiant effort to have her movements be worthy of the word 'darting,' she looked down at the weasel tracking her and twittered, "<Why do you think she's got us doing this?>"Bela shrugged, then smirked as she chattered back. "<Maybe she thinks you need to lose a little weight! You have been riding on her shoulder.>"Rosa huffed. "<Then what's it say about what she thinks of your eyes that she's got you watching me?>""<Maybe she wants me to catch you if you fall out of the air!>"
Current Party: Bela (Sneasel) is training for the Keen Eye ability. And practicing her Taunt attack a little bit.Rosa (Spritzee) is doing aerial speed/agility practice. Bianca is fishing for pokemon.

It took another cast or two, including one that seemed certain to be alive but ended up being nothing more than a little seaweed, but then Bianca got a real bite. The being on the other end gave significant resistance, but not much of a 'fight' so much. As she reeled in more, little flashes of red began to appear above the water.
At last, the Pokemon became visible, showing itself to be a Krabby. It was a little bit on the small side- nothing worth being called a 'mutation', more likely just a juvenile- and had some fairly interesting horn structure. Rather than the typical two straight spines on its head it, it had four that were a bit shorter than usual and rather gnarled-looking. Such a minor mutation was really nothing noteworthy on a grand scale, but it might have looked a bit cool.
At any rate, the little Pokemon did not seem hostile at the moment. Rather, he didn't seem to take notice of Bianca or her Pokemon at all. Instead, his focus was solely on the hook in his mouth and the string that was becoming increasingly wrapped around his legs. This was very frustrating, and he refused to pay attention to anything else until he figured out what was going on here and fixed it.

One cast, two cast, three cast, four. Five cast, six cast, seven cast, more.
Well, okay, Bianca actually only got up to 'four' before she felt some resistance, not counting the bit of seaweed she got on cast three--and she sure wasn't going to knock seaweed, since if she got enough of the stuff and cleaned it properly, it could cook up quite well, though she'd prefer something with meat--but she'd always really liked that rhyme.
This sure felt heavier than the seaweed had been, but Bianca was instantly suspicious when it didn't seem to be fighting back. Rather than let down her guard, she braced herself more and took a deep breath, trying her best not to get impatient and try to reel it in too fast. A few years ago, a particularly clever tirtouga had gotten the better of her by only fighting once she'd been lulled into a false sense of security, and she sure wasn't going to let that happen a second time.
The chances of it being another tirtouga diminished when she caught sight of a bit of red peeking out of the water. Unless it was a mutant tirtouga. That would sure be a lucky catch. Someone would probably pay pretty good money for a bright red tirtouga, she bet. Or carracosta. They evolved at around level eight, right? Might be worth the training to bring it up that high first.
...Or, it could be a krabby. That had actually been the much more likely scenario upon seeing the red, but no harm in a bit of daydreaming, right? It seemed her catch was more preoccupied with the hook in its mouth and the line tangling up its legs to even notice it was being reeled in, let alone fight it. Advantage Bianca's, then.
It was a bit small, though, she noticed when it was closer. And, huh, those horns looked kind of cute, didn't they? Well, that was two strikes against eating the fellow; she'd just have to capture it and sell it later instead. Bianca glanced over her shoulder at her pokemon, still dutifully continuing their training. "Look alive, you too. I'll have something for you two to fight in a second!"
The krabby, meanwhile, finally seemed to realize that there was something else amiss besides the irritating hook and string when he left the water entirely, and really realized there was something amiss when dry land was also left behind and he found himself dangling in the air. The full gravity of the situation hit, however, when two strange pokemon, one of them with unmistakably carnivore claws and teeth, scampered over to sit beneath him and stare up eagerly, very much like young ready to be fed by their mother. There was only one response to this situation.
PANIC!
Bianca gripped her fishing pole tightly as the krabby let out a noise she could neither describe, nor did she know that krabby could make, then started thrashing like a mad tauros. The flailing, mixed with gravity, managed to loosen the tangled fishing line in a few areas, but just seemed to tighten it in others, and now Bianca was at a loss as to how to get him down without ending up on the business end of those pincers. "You're not helping!" she hollered when she realized that Bela was hopping up and down and swiping at the air beneath the krabby with her claws. The sneasel obediently stopped, but pouted when she sat down, earning an eye roll from Rosa.
Think. Think. Think. Bianca suddenly whirled to face the rock her pokemon had been resting on when they arrived at the fishing spot, and she had her plan. She let go of the fishing reel to allow the line freedom, and then swung the pole so that the line whipped outward, sending the krabby hurling face-first into the large stone. He slumped to the ground, stunned, and Bianca quickly raced over and started working to free him, thanking Arceus over and over for her finger dexterity as she unhooked the hook and started to untangle all four of his spindly little legs oh crap he was starting to move hurry hurry hurry.
Bianca scrambled back, fishing line in hand, as the feral krabby shook himself, moments before Bela suddenly raced forward, swinging her razor-sharp claws right for him.
Unfortunately, while the claws did leave a mark, it was little more than a faint scratch along his shell. The krabby, still disoriented and frightened, instinctively lashed out, locked a pincer around Bela's wrist, and squeezed hard, digging the scarp edge of the claw into her skin. She hissed in surprise and pain, jerking back in an attempt to break free.
Rosa, twittering a little battle cry, swooped in and whipped up a gust of wind which sent the krabby sprawling. Bela hissed again when her arm was yanked along with him at first, but he soon let go and tumbled away. She looked up and flashed her battle partner a grin. "<Thanks, feathers.>"
Rosa bobbed in the air in a kind of full-body nod. "<Anytime, claws.>"
They both turned their attention to the krabby as he started to pull himself up off of the ground, and Bela's grin widened. "<Think you can hit a moving target?>"
"<Try me.>"
"<Moving target, coming right up.>" Bela turned her back toward the now-upright krabby, looking over her shoulder as she wiggled her brightly-coloured tail feathers. "<Hey, ugly!>" With instinctive ease, enhanced by a young life full of practice, she started hurling insult after insult and rude gesture after rude gesture. She didn't flex her creativity too much, since this was a feral, and so her rapier wit was largely lost on him, but she exaggerated the gestures and voice tone to get the point across.
That certainly seemed enough to do the trick, since the once-terrified krabby now looked downright furious, and came charging right for her with his claws clicking dangerously. Bela let out a victorious whoop and suddenly took off running, laughing all the way. She could outrun this guy in her sleep, but she didn't want to leave him in the dust. Instead, she kept a short distance out of claw range, occasionally shaking her feathers to keep fueling the rage.
She'd admit that she didn't expect him to spit a stream of bubbles at her rear end mid-taunt, and she gave a little hop and hiss as at the stinging sensation when they popped on impact. However, while there were species who could make bubbles into deadly weapons, a krabby was not one of them, as their special attacking power was painfully abysmal, especially compared to Bela's not-insignificant resistance to such assaults.
The feral did not share that resistance, as Rosa swooped with another gust of wind just as he was passing the rock again, and sent him tumbling off-course and smacking straight into it. Bela stopped and turned around, then started laughing anew and held up her paw for a high-five as Rosa swooped past. The sound of faint snickering make them glance at Bianca, who was straightening out her fishing line some more as she watched the battle and was clearly just as amused as they were. Well, maybe she did feel a little sorry for the guy but, hey, at least she wasn't planning on having him for dinner.
The krabby picked himself up again, but this time looked much shakier, thin legs trembling. The repeated blows to the head, shell or no shell, were getting to him, and he shook himself to try to focus his vision. Tired of being tossed around, he turned on Rosa and blew a stream of bubbles at her instead of Bela, and while the spritzee tried to dodge, a cluster of them still hit, popping painfully against her face. She dropped in the air slightly with a pained twitter and blinked furiously at the stinging, but it was hardly enough to keep her from whipping up another gust.
The burst of wind struck him and sent him sprawling for the third time, but this time he didn't get up. After a moment, Bela scampered over and prodded the fallen pokemon with a claw experimentally. No response. She backed off when Bianca approached and nudged the little water type with the tip of her boot, then the handle of her fishing pole, watching for any sign that it was a fake-out. Convinced that there would be no krabby leaping at her face to claw it off, she smiled and knelt down. "Bueno!" she praised, "Nice teamwork, you too."
Her starters shared another high-five as Bianca examined those mutated horns and pulled out an empty pokeball. "Think we'll keep this one." She heard a noise from Bela that might have been an expression of disappointment at a lack of krabby meat on the menu, but ignored it as she dropped the pokeball on the passed-out crab pokemon.
"Now, let's see that wrist," she said, holding out her hand. Bela looked at her wrist, then at Bianca, then sighed a little and held it out. She took Bela's paw and lightly rubbed her thumb over the area the krabby had grabbed, watching her sneasel's face carefully for signs of pain. "Okay, doesn't seem too bad," she admitted finally as she let go, then looked at Rosa. "You all right, too?" The bird gave an affirmative twitter--a bubble had hit her eye, but she felt okay now--and Bianca smiled and nodded.
Bianca got up and fetched her fishing pole again. "Now, let's see if we can't catch dinner, huh?" she said as she got ready to make a cast.
The battle begins! Bianca reeled in feral Krabby! Feral Krabby panicked! Bianca bashed the Krabby against a rock and unhooked it from the line. Bela used Scratch! It didn't do much. Krabby grabbed Bela's arm with Vice Grip! Rosa used Fairy Wind to knock Krabby away from Bela! Bela used Taunt and took off running! Krabby used Bubble at Bela! It's not overly effective. Rosa used Fairy Wind to knock Krabby back into the rock. Krabby used Bubble at Rosa! Rosa used Fairy Wind! Krabby is knocked out!
Bianca used a pokeball on the fainted krabby.
Bianca is fishing for pokemon again.

Well well, what was that she saw floating in the water?
Corka were a common enough sight, and a staple of the diets of those who lived in Port City due to the number of ranches that raised them. Not to mention, in Bianca's own opinion, they were very tasty. Perhaps not as nice as shellder or krabby meat, but Bianca had never gotten sick of grilled corka in her life and likely never would. So, finding a wild one was quite the moment of good fortune, in her mind.
Until a wingull decided to swoop out of nowhere and snatch the little morsel up into his beak. There was a cut-off death scream from the little pink creature before the gull went about devouring it mid-air. She was only vaguely aware of another pink creature revealing its presence and proceeding to burst into cackling laughter of a distressingly psychopathic variety.
Nope, Bianca's eyes were solely for the bird who had changed plans of hers that had barely a second to form. Dinner could wait a little bit longer, because that was a pretty birdie and she wanted it. Bianca reeled in her empty line and looked to her two pokemon with a grin. "Girls?" she inquired in the sweetest sing-song voice she could.
Rosa took off without another word--it was no mystery what her trainer was requesting, and she certainly wasn't going to turn down another fight-- flapping her tiny wings like her life depended it try to get in range of the larger bird. The wind around her started to whip into a frenzy in response to her awesome fairy magic, and she hurled the magical gust right at the feral wingull with a great twitter of challenge.
The feral bird let out a squawk of surprise at the sudden attack, the half-eaten corka corpse falling from his beak to hit the water. He then immediately whirled on the offending flying bundle of fluff and shot a stream of cold water straight into her face. She was knocked from the air and spiraled downward with a cry of distress before she managed to right herself and fluttered madly back toward the shore.
Then it was Bela's turn. With a bellow of, "<Hey, ugly, how about fighting someone your own size?>" the domestic sneasel proceeded to make a series of obscene gestures at the already-angry wingull. Or, at least the assumption was that those were obscene gestures. From Bianca's perspective as she ran over to meet her fleeing spritzee, it looked more like Bela was attempting to dance the macarena. And failing horribly.
Still, it seemed to do the trick, as the wingull screamed in rage and swooped down low to shoot a blast of water at her, too. It hit her point-blank in the chest and knocked her onto her rear end, which he seemed to internally celebrate until another gust of wind knocked him off-kilter and, because he was flying so low, he hit the ground before he could right himself again.
Rosa fluttered over to Bela as she was getting up and they shared their second high-five of the day.
Bela then lunged for the wingull before he could try to get up and into the air again. A swing of her arm sent her claws slicing into his wing, earning a squawk of pain and a hastily-aimed shot of water that Bela managed to just barely side-step out of the way of. Then the wingull found himself being buffeted by another gust, courtesy of Rosa, and smashing into the ground on his freshly-injured wing. Grinning, Bela stepped right up to the feral bird to grin toothily and stare into his eyes, her irises glowing a vicious red.
The wingull responded by sending a blast of water right into her face, and she promptly stared sputtering and choking. Rosa, having had enough of this, summoned one last gust of wind and sent him tumbling tail-feathers over skull into a rock.
Bianca was by the pair in a second, and she started to gently smack Bela on the back until she coughed up the bit of cold seawater she'd managed to inhale. She gingerly picked up the wheezing sneasel and set her down in her lap. "You okay, mi gatita?" she asked gently. Bela wiped her mouth with a paw and nodded. Bianca looked at Rosa, who'd fluttered onto her shoulder. "How about you, mi amiga?" she asked, and Rosa looked at her still-slightly-damp wings before nodding as well.
That left the bundle of white and blue feathers laying on the ground nearby, out cold, and Bela obligingly got off of Bianca's lap so she could get up again. She fished a pokeball out of her pack and walked over to drop it on the gull pokemon. "Well, that's two captures and no dinner yet," she commented, voice chipper. "Want to bet the third time's the charm?"
The corsola was still floating out there, having been watching the ongoing battle with interest, but soon found its interest waning. Bianca had no desire to catch the corsola, as they were both not very edible compared to corka and not something she particularly wanted to own, and so, with the human and her pets not engaging it, all it had was the sight of Bianca fussing with her fishing pole to watch, and that wasn't very entertaining at all.
Finally, the little pink rock type slipped below the surface of the water to find something better to do with its time, as Bianca made her cast.
Feral Wingull was engaged in battle! Rosa used Fairy Wind! Feral Wingull dropped its dinner as is not happy. Wingull used Water Gun at Rosa! Bela used Taunt at Wingull. Wingull is enraged! Wingull used Water Gun at Bela! Rosa used Fairy Wind! Wingull hit the ground hard. Bela used Scratch! Wingull used Water Gun at Bela! It missed. Rosa used Fairy Wind! Bela used Leer! Wingull used Water Gun at Bela! She started choking on the water. Rosa used Fairy Wind and sent Wingull right into a rock! Wingull is knocked out!
Bianca used a pokeball on the fainted Wingull.
Corsola watched the whole battle, but was ignored and eventually got bored and went away.
Bianca is still fishing for pokemon.

Species: Krabby TP: 25 Wingull was successfully captured! -remove 1 pokeball
Name: Species: Wingull Gender: Male Ability: Lvl: 2 Attacks: Growl, Water Gun, Supersonic, Wing Attack TP: 45 Bela and Rosa each gain 6.5 EXP! They've both leveled up!
The next catch was a little bit odd. A rather plump Remoraid grabbed the line - but those Pokemon weren't found here? Perhaps they were just more elusive, or they've just never been recorded. Ah well. Remoraid Lv. 1
A cute "mew" sounds behind Bianca as it notices her fresh catch. A Feral Meowth appeared! ...Or was it a Meowth? It didn't boast the familiar amulet coin like a PokeEarth Meowth would, it was instead replaced by an adorable tuft of hair. And were those black stripes? They didn't wrap all the way around the Pokemon, but the pattern was indeed interesting. Meowth Lv. 2 Mutated (Tier 1)
"Hyuah!" called another voice from under the water. It seemed rather hostile. Staryu Lv.2

Bianca started to hum faintly as she went about waiting for something to end up hooked on her line. She had a mutant krabby and a feisty feral wingull now, and her girls had gotten in some good training without sustaining serious damage. Today was a good day. Though, her stomach was kinda starting to rumble now, and she was regretting not getting out here at an earlier time of day so she could be eating some kind of seafood stew by now, rather than still hunting down the seafood for it. As happy as she was to have a new birdie, she did wish she'd managed to keep him from grabbing that corka for himself, because corka stew sounded very good right about now.
Oh well. Such was life. And today was still a very good day.
As Bianca hummed and fished, Bela pulled herself onto the big rock that had managed to be used twice in a row as something to smash feral faces against. She flopped onto her stomach and stretched out her limbs, hoping that the sun would dry out her fur and trying to ignore the aching in the wrist that the krabby had grabbed earlier. She'd made a point to attack that wingull with her other forepaw to keep from aggravating it too much, so it certainly wasn't a problem but it was more annoying when she didn't have an opponent to take her mind off of it.
Rosa fluttered over and perched next to her fellow starter pokemon, and fluffed up her feathers slightly as she also silently hoped the sun would take away the moisture. It wouldn't do much for all the salt, though. Sea-dwelling pokemon and their salt-water spraying, bleh. Stung when it got in her eyes, too. She'd be happy when they got further away from the ocean, though, admittedly, she'd probably miss the food when they did. Sea food was a staple of the diets of more than the humans, here.
An excited cry made both pokemon look up, and they saw Bianca start reeling in her line with a grin. There was something fighting on the line, and both the rush that came with the struggle and the anticipation of finally having something to cook and eat made her laugh. She had no idea what it was she had hooked, but occasionally she saw a flash of blue above the surface in the midst of all the thrashing. Maybe a tirtouga? Tirtouga stew was pretty good.
Boy, this one was a fierce one. Maybe she'd end up keeping this one, too, depending on what it...
...Was.
The pokemon on her line was finally revealed as she yanked it out of the water, and she was left with a rather round, blue fish flailing around in the air, with long fins and darker blue stripes. Bianca was left absolutely stunned.
A remoraid? Here? Near the shore, at that?
"Well, aren't you rare," she commented to the still-fighting fish, gripping the pole tightly. Already, thoughts were whirling through her mind. This was definitely too valuable a prize to go and cook.
Sure, remoraid had never been a particularly sought-after pokemon, but it was still a feral of an, as far as she knew, unrecorded species in this area, which meant there was some novelty value. Not to mention, if she was remembering right, remoraid did have a niche that could be worth some money to exploit, if she ever came across someone with a mantyke, and given that, in the new world, all mantine eggs would hatch as mantyke, that chance was higher than it would have been back in the old world.
Oh, this was perfect. So very perfect. Bianca hadn't even realized that she'd started cackling with glee at this point.
Bela, meanwhile, had a distinctly deadpan expression on her face as she turned to Rosa, who looked mildly concerned. "<I'm definitely getting the distinct impression Anita gave us to a crazy person.>"
Rosa looked from Bianca, to Bela, and back again, not quite able to disagree. "<At least she's a nice crazy person?>" she offered. Bianca had, after all, given them nice names and was clearly quite affectionate and concerned with their well-being.
Bela twitched an ear slightly and started to get up. "<Good point,>" she admitted, adding, "<She probably wants to catch that thing, the way she's going on like that. Better get ready to beat it into the dust.>" She flexed her paws and unsheathed her claws again, but was sidetracked when she caught sight of something cream-coloured with black stripes slinking out from behind another stone and padding up to Bianca.
Bianca, for her part, had let her cackles fade a little as she came down from her dollar-signs-in-eyes giddiness, just in time to hear a soft, "Mew?" emerge behind her. Confused, she turned around at the sound, and found herself staring down at a meowth. This clearly was not a domestic, as even if the lack of a coin was not a clue, the mutant tabby stripes certainly were, yet the feline appeared downright docile, sitting there and looking up at Bianca inquiringly, eyes flicking from the human to the fish on her hook.
Bianca, unfortunately, was not initially overly coherent, as the part of her brain that was still five years old promptly went into overdrive.
OhsweetArceusyouarethecutestthingeverI'mgoingtotakeyouhomeandfeedyouandpetyouandcallyouChiquita.
That was right around the moment that the remoraid on her hook had apparently decided he was done dealing with this crap and shot a steam of high-pressure water at Bianca's head. A shriek of surprise escaped her at the sudden cold shower, and she was left sputtering as the recoil from the attack sent the rare water pokemon flying right off her hook.
The meowth, seeing the tasty fish hit the ground not far from the water, suddenly sprang into action, lunging toward and smashing a paw right into his face. The action stunned the remoraid and effectively kept him from trying to jump back into the ocean as Bianca recovered her wits from the unexpected attack and got all the water out of her nose.
However, it seemed like there was going to be yet another pokemon joining this little party, as a cry of, "Hyuah!" echoed eerily from beneath the water, right before a living five-pointed star with a gemstone in its centre suddenly leaped out and slammed into the meowth, sending her skidding. The cat hissed back, and Bianca had just enough sense to drop her fishing pole and go running toward the remoraid as the other two feral pokemon faced off.
Bela pitched herself off the stone and started running as well; whether invited or not, this party looked fun to crash. She jumped at the staryu with a cry and swung her claws, leaving a gash in one of its arms. The meowth looked surprised at the help as Bela landed, and the domestic sneasel flashed the feral meowth a grin. "<Don't worry, babe. You're welcome to keep the gem.>"
The meowth blinked at her. Wow, that was a thick accent, and did she just call her a...? Wait, keep the gem? Oh, she liked the sound of that. She grinned and leaped at the staryu as well with a loud, "Meow!" before she sank her fangs into another of its arms and bit down. Take that, horrible star-thing!
It managed to shake her off, but a moment later Rosa swooped in, whipping up a gust of air to nearly knock the staryu off-balance. The meowth looked confused at this too, but Bela just waved a little. "<It's cool. She's my friend.>"
Friends...with a bird? Well, that was...something. Pokemon that hung around humans were weird.
Speaking of humans, the remoraid started to return to his senses, but not before Bianca lunged and pinned him to the ground. He writhed around in her grasp, but didn't make much progress. Movement on land was difficult enough to start with without some strange, ugly land-creature holding him down. A shrill, angry noise escaped him that made Bianca cringe.
The three-on-one battle continued without Bianca, Bela and the meowth circling around the staryu as Rosa soared overhead. Bela let her eyes start to glow as she leered dangerously at the aquatic feral; she wasn't sure exactly how to stare down something without a face, so she just settled for aiming her look at the staryu's core. That seemed to be the right approach, as it was distracted enough for her new ally to leap in and grab another arm in her fangs, sinking them in deep.
Unfortunately, that was when the staryu leaped in the air and started spinning. The meowth was sent flying, and it soared over to slam into Bela and also send her sprawling. She muttered curses as she got to her feet, and saw the meowth getting up as well.
Bianca was still locked into her own brawl with her rare fish, and got another blast of water to the face that sent the remoraid slipping out of her grasp, but she jumped forward and grabbed his tail fin before he could hop the last little bit to the ocean. "Oh no you don't! You're mine!""
Rosa swooped toward the spinning staryu and whipped up another of her gusts, knocking the airborne sea star pokemon off-balance and sending it back to the ground. Bela leaped at the grounded staryu, claws slashing wildly, and the meowth followed this up with a vicious growl. The gem in the centre of the water type was flickering more faintly and erratically than before, but it wasn't out of the fight yet, and the staryu twisted one of its other limbs around to shoot a stream of water at the meowth. It sent her tumbling back, and she was dripping wet as she hauled herself to her feet again.
Oh, it was going down, now.
The remoraid was still thrashing in Bianca's grip, and twisted himself around to fire another shot of water at the stubborn human. That propelled him out of her grasp and, finally, back into the water. That would be around the moment that most people would have given up, albeit with profuse amounts of profanity. Bianca, however, was not most people.
Nope, Bianca was just the right mix of stubborn and insane that she got to feet, charged toward the water, and dove in. Rosa, catching sight of this, darted over the water to stare down at it, until she felt she could pick out the shape under the surface of what she was pretty sure was Bianca grabbing the remoraid and beating the ever-loving crap out of him.
Rosa was fairly certain humans couldn't breathe down there, under the water, and found herself somewhat worried due to this fact.
That left Bela and the meowth dealing with the staryu, but it was on its last legs anyway. Bela sunk the clawed claws on both her paws into a slash she'd already made and raked them across the limb, slicing deep, and the meowth followed suit, finding an already-wounded portion and grabbing it in her jaws to rip a chunk of flesh off. The flickering of the gemstone faded under the onslaught, and the staryu finally laid still.
Bela smiled, relaxed, and hopped off the defeated staryu. That was around the second that she realized that she couldn't see her trainer anymore, and that her bird buddy was flying frantic circles over the water. The question of what was going on was answered when Bianca broke the surface with a gasp of air, a pokeball in her hand, and rapidly half-waded, half-crawled to the shore again. The pokeball bounced and rolled out of her hand, the pokemon inside clearly still fighting back, and it suddenly opened with a burst of light to reveal the remoraid again.
Rosa then, ever-so-helpful, summoned another gust of wind to send the remoraid hurtling, predictably, into a nice, big rock. The fish slumped to the ground and finally laid still.
Bianca laid there for a bit, sputtering and coughing, and her two pokemon were quickly at her side. Bela lightly struck Bianca's back, trying to simulate what she'd done earlier to help with her own choking, and eventually the coughing stopped and Bianca pushed herself into a sitting up position. She was drenched, with seaweed attempting to become one with her hair and clothes, but there was still a goofy grin on her face as she caught sight of the passed-out remoraid and grabbed another pokeball out of her soaking-wet pocket. She gave it a toss, then resisted the urge to just sink back down again and instead got to her feet.
"Well, that was fun!" she announced, ignoring the way Bela and Rosa stared at one another after she said it. That was when she noticed a series of frustrated meowing noises, and her eyes found the staryu and meowth. The feral cat had her claws hooked on the side of the staryu's gem and was yanking on it as hard as she could.
"<C'mon, you stupid thing. C'mon! Give me the gem!>" She yanked a few more times, deflated and panted a bit, then started yanking again.
A grin settled on Bianca's features again as she pulled yet another pokeball out of her pocket and expanded it. Bela quietly looked away and started to whistle faux-innocently as her trainer pitched the sphere and it struck the meowth right in the side.
A mew of surprise escaped the feral meowth as she vanished into the capsule, and the pokeball bounced a couple of times as she tried to figure out what was going on and how to make it stop. Unfortunately, between the beating she'd taken from the staryu and fighting to try to remove the unmoving gem, she was really very tired...
Bianca watched Bela stop her whistling and scamper over to hold the pokeball shut with her paws--unlike with the previous captures, she was very much on board with her trainer keeping this one--then walked over to the staryu laying still on the ground, covered in slashes and bite marks.
Well, this wasn't exactly what she'd pictured bringing home for dinner, given that staryu meat could be incredibly tough and the preparation was not the easiest, but she still leaned over and grabbed one of the arms, starting to drag it along the ground. Rosa fluttered over, peering at her trainer with interest. "How's staryu stew sound like to you?" she asked chipperly.
Wow, this thing was heavy, though. It wouldn't normally be too much trouble, but she'd been fighting with pokemon and her arms were really tired. She could attempt a pokeball, but that struck her as kind of...twisted. No, to her, pokeballs were for pokemon she wanted to take care of, tame, and train, not for food.
It really was heavy, though. This might take a while.

Bela used Scratch at Staryu! Meowth used Bite at Staryu! Staryu was knocked out! Bianca grabbed and beat the tar out Remoraid underwater, and used a pokeball on it, then brought the pokeball onto shore. Remoraid broke out of the pokeball!
